Friendship and Cooperation Agreement between Germany´s Saarland and Gangwon-do

On June 26, 2025, the Governor of the Korean province Gangwon JinTae Kim and the Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digital and Energy of Saarland and Deputy Prime Minister Jürgen Barke signed a friendship and cooperation agreement between the two regions in Saarbrücken. Martin Bernhardt accompanied the preparatory talks on the German side and welcomed the delegation participants on behalf of the Saarland Economic Development Corporation (gwSaar). During the visit, he also advised delegation participants from Gangwon Province on the initiation of economic and research cooperation with Saarland partners.
